Christmas menu 2014
We are running our special Christmas menu from Saturday 23rd November 2014. Parties may be booked in advance with music or disco at extra cost. Prices - Two courses £14.95 or Three courses £18.50
Starters
Our homemade duck and ham-hock terrine, with a plum and apple chutney and toasted bread
Our homemade Mushroom, celery and blue-cheese soup served with chunky farmhouse bread.
Two wedges of Brie panéed in bread crumbs deep-fried, served with a chilli cranberry dip
Whole cold water prawns and crayfish tails, served in a homemade Marie Rose sauce on a bed of sliced avocado
Our own recipe homemade fish cake panéed in bread-crumbs and served with tartar sauce, a wedge of lemon and mixed leaf garnish
Mains
All served with a selection of seasonal vegetables
Roasted Local Turkey (Appledore), roast potatoes, Top Bull pig in blanket, Top Bull stuffing, homemade gravy and cranberry sauce
An 8 ounce prime steak cut from the rib of our locally reared beef, served on a bubble and squeak cake with a mushroom & pepper-corn sauce
Locally sourced prime pork loin steak pan seared, served with sautéed bacon & herb potatoes and a cider apple sauce
A prime farmed Salmon steak grilled in a lemon and herb cream sauce and served with new potatoes
Our home-made red onion, bleu cheese and roasted pepper filling in an individual puff pastry tart, served with chilli pesto and new potatoes
Desserts
A hand-made individual Christmas pudding, served with a home-made brandy sauce
Home-made suet roly-poly pudding packed with raisins and sultanas and served with custard
Home-made white chocolate and raspberry mousse for the lighter but still tasty finish to your meal
Home-made brûlée to our own recipe with the rich taste of Baileys Irish Liqueur and toasted oats
A selection of cheeses Hereford Hop, Barkham Blue and Bath Soft served with apple, grapes and biscuits
